Vincent Brusel, known for his songs of sailors and  the sea originates from Boulogne-sur-mer and performs alone or as part of   the duo / trio La Bricole.

He has long lived in the Audomarois marsh, in Pas-de-Calais around Saint-Omer, a market gardening region shaped since mediaeval times, where many islands are only accessible by boat.

He was an archeologist and teacher, musician, (guitarist and mandolinist) and poet.

He also has made three solo albums, with a repertoire of traditional songs or new works inspired by them.

Today’s songs written on a portable sailor’s instrument: a Neapolitan mandolin, an Irish concertina, a Brazilian pandeiro. Warm and joyful songs that serve as both retreats and travelling companions.

“He plunges us into his songs beaten by the spray of the North: songs that have seen herring, cod and whales, love songs with irons on their feet and a hollow stomach, which have drunk the cup and have returned in precious notebooks of sailors. And it is on board a proud mandolin that they will harpoon you!”
