Alan George

Alan George was a Singer – Shantyman with the Barnacle Buoys. Additionally, he works at Location Safety Ltd., works at A J George Refrigeration & Air Conditioning Ltd. and works for Mountain Rescue England and Wales.

On 21 Sept 2023 he posted on Facebook:  “In anticipation of Bristol Shanty Festival 2023 I feel obliged to inform you all, that I and the Barnacle Buoys have parted.  Our pathways have taken on increasingly different and divergent directions.  My heart is, and always will be, with the shanty community where I’m very lucky and fortunate to have so many and very dear true friends.  Rest assured that this Bristol Shantyman ( Alan George ) will still be found performing somewhere.  Sea salted salutations!”
