Overview

Musical World Traveler with a Passion for Folk

Born in Pernis, but after years of roaming the world has now been rooted in the clay of Groningen for decades. Corine is a true jack-of-all-trades within the folk world.

As co-founder of Rocking Good Folk – an organisation that organises concerts, sessions, folk club nights and singarounds – and of Jig Dolls & Limberjacks, the only known creators of Jig Dolls on the European mainland, she has made quite a mark on the folk community.

Whereas she used to pull most of the strings behind the scenes, in recent years she has increasingly been on stage herself. With her powerful vocals and unique percussion instruments such as the cajon, bones, self-designed small drums and, of course, the Jig Dolls, she brings rhythm and energy to every performance. And as if that were not enough, she also lugs around a one-string bucket-bass ánd recently took a crash course in mandolin!
