Porthleven Sea Shanty Festival

The Porthleven Sea Shanty Festival in Cornwall is organised by The Ship Inn, Porthleven and ACapella Moonshine, a local women’s shanty group that embodies the spirit of the sea and the women who draw their life from it.

It is a lively celebration of maritime music and coastal spirit. Set against the picturesque harbour of Porthleven, this special event brings the community together for an afternoon filled with live sea shanties, great atmosphere, and seaside charm. 

Back after last year’s success The Ship Inn in Porthleven is once again joining forces with the RNLI for another weekend of sea shanties and fundraising. The RNLI Shanty Fest took place on Saturday 22nd and Sunday 23rd May 2026. Last year’s event raised some £2,000 for RNLI Penlee, and organisers are hoping to build on that total with two days of live music and support for the volunteer lifeboat crews who save lives at sea.
