Schooner Fame

FAME is a full-scale replica of a famous privateer schooner that sailed from Salem during the War of 1812 and captured 20 ships! We sail up to five times a day between May and October from Pickering Wharf Marina in downtown Salem.

The schooner is available for private events as well as public sails.

FAME was built in Essex by National Heritage Fellow Harold Burnham in 2003.  She is a locally-owned, well-reviewed business that works with the Park Service, Essex Heritage, and the Salem Public Schools to increase appreciation of Salem’s maritime history and traditions.
