Overview
There has been an ongoing celebration of the 150th Anniversary of the opening of the Sharpness New Dock since 2024. The 2025 Sharpness Midsummer Sea Shanty Festival (second annual) was a part of that celebration. On Saturday, 21st June 2025 from 2:00 pm the event began at the Sharpness Sports & Social Club, Bridge Road, Sharpness GL13 9UN, featuring a number of notable UK-based maritime music groups. The club’s bar and kitchen was open from noon forward and admission was free for the musical performances.
The Sharpness Sports & Social Club is the beating heart of the Sharpness Dockyard and our local community since 1871. The facility is dog-friendly and features an extensive campground area.
