Overview
Every third Monday of the month from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm, we gather at Merlins Rest Pub at East Lake Street and 36th Avenue in Minneapolis to sing sea shanties and all manner of other songs with a chorus. This sing is less shanty-specific than the Second Monday Shanty Sing at the Dubliner Pub, but you’ll hear plenty of sea songs all the same. No bands, no instruments — just individual singers leading songs and a large pub crowd singing along in harmony. We also have a “songherder” who takes names and makes sure everyone who wants to lead a song gets to do so.
