Ventnor on the Isle of Wight held its most recent Pirate Festival from Wednesday 12th August to Saturday 15th August 2026.
This year, we’re proud to open in collaboration with Ventnor Carnival, with the main carnival on Wednesday 12th August, promising to kick off the festivities with a bang (as well as a whizz, whoosh, crackle and boom!)
The picturesque seaside town was transformed into a haven for pirates young and old, and promises a treasure trove of activities and entertainment for visitors and locals alike. There was a ‘Best Dressed Pirate’ competition, a seafront fireworks display, a treasure hunt, sea shanties and pirate songs, barrel rolling and a tug of war. Pirates were encouraged to join the main Ventnor Carnival procession. All games and activities took place along Ventnor Esplanade and on the beach on Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday. Attendees enjoyed live music and refreshments at The Spyglass Inn for the duration of the event, with the festivities continuing late into the evening.
Ventnor Pirate Festival is a FREE event and open to all. We’re a not for profit Community Group made up of dedicated volunteers.
The first festival took place in 2024 and a second festival was held in August 2025.
