Overview
Finally another message, but unfortunately not a good message and certainly also the last one. Unfortunately, the Flying Hollander Shantyfestival will cease to exist after many musical years. Years in which many of you contributed and also enjoyed it. Many thanks to all the volunteers, sponsors, catering and audience who made all this possible. Good luck for the future and keep enjoying the beautiful shanty music, which hopefully can continue to sound for a long time.

This festival was held the first weekend of September, in Terneuzen. A place that has a great affinity with the sea, sailor life and the accompanying maritime music.
The festival was organized by the Shantyfestival Zeeuws Vlaanderen Foundation in close collaboration with the members of the maritime folk group ZuidWest10 and the Heemkundige Vereniging Terneuzen.
The implementation was also achieved through collaboration with the umbrella shopkeepers’ association Bizzy, care homes within the municipality of Terneuzen, local businesses and many volunteers.
During the festival, various internet-based choirs and groups performed their music on various stages in the city center of Terneuzen.
It was a party you didn’t want to miss!
As of 24 Jan 2025 the official website for this festival was inoperative.
