Work songs to turn, to hoist, to pump… Songs to dance, laments and traditional ballads. Songs and contemporary compositions.

The group was formed on the occasion of the maritime festivals of Ploumanac’h in 1991 by a team of friends from Trébeurden and its close suburbs. Naturally, as in all sea shanties groups, we have bearded males whose powerful voices will make you vibrate by evoking Cape Horn or Newfoundland. But the great originality of the Kanerien Trozoul is that there are also Kanerezed.

Of very diverse origins (Brittany, France, Great Britain, Ireland, United States, Russia, Italy, Quebec, Galicia …) our songs are performed “a capella” or accompanied by one or more instruments: guitars, violin, double bass , concertina, mandolin, Irish flute, small percussion.

Yes, there are girls! Girls who sometimes accompany the guys in their flights, and sometimes also sing beautiful girls’ songs on their own… bringing a little sweetness and poetry into this virile, see macho, sailor’s world.
