The vocal group Les Marins d’Iroise was born in 1992 on the docks of the port of Brest during its maritime festivals and the first gatherings of old sailing rigs, having one idea in mind:  to liven up the quays during these festivals.

Under the leadership of René Mandon and Philippe Soulier, about fifteen singers gathered around a guitar and an accordion, with the choir growing over the years to some 30 singers and five musicians

Thanks to its wanderings through all the maritime festivals in the region, this men’s choir has seen its fame grow, and with this success, and thanks to hard work and “hand-chiseled” harmonisations, the group has produced two albums, selling 300,000 and 70,000 copies respectively!
