Overview
Singing in Dutch, Frisian, Esperanto and English, Ankie and Nanne provide various musical activities such as:
- coffee concerts
- workshops for Shanty, Smartlap and Pret choirs
- programs aimed at sea and sailing
- music stories: the song told – the story sung
- musical theater spectacles (possibly together with others)
- devising and implementing special musical projects
They also play atmospheric and cheerful background music in English, Frisian and Dutch on various occasions.
They accompany themselves on various instruments such as guitar, mandolin, cister, concertina and double bass.
They have been the organizers of the storied Liereliet festival in Workum, Friesland for decades. This festival featured the duo of Johnny Collins and Jim Mageean for nearly as long.
They occasionally perform with Kat yn’t Seil. When performing in Esperanto, Nanne and Ankie perform as Kajto.
